1951 Rolleiflex TLR Film Camera Making History

History Making with 1951 Rolleiflex TLR Film Camera

Film camera, 1951 Rolleiflex TLR continues to make history for Vancouver photographer during a Mexico family trip. A 61 years old camera still working this day, I don’t see any my digital cameras will last that long! As a Vancouver Professional wedding photographer I change my cameras every three to four years; they don’t build a camera like this now a day that is for sure! It is interesting to know this model has a special name ‘K4A’ as it was born between 1951 -1954 (Germany). K4S, how cool was that! This camera takes little room as it folds and traveling around Mexico with me during the week. During the trip, this classic camera was used for Family portrait, Art, Scenic photography as it has no metering as most of my older camera, it is a good thing to use my head! Taking the time to find interesting subject before I push the shuttle as I have only 4 rolls of film for the trip.

Get Notice with this Cute Little Film Camera

Shooting with a DSLR camera you don’t get much notice in the public but with this cute little camera people notice you quickly. I’m not sure it is a good thing! During a downtown trip at Playa Del Carmen, I came across a fellow Canadian from Calgary and met him this way….small world!

Medium Format 6X6 with Unique Character

Rolleiflex TLR captures images in 6X6 cm or 2 and a quarter, it yields a square format images by using a special 120 film (Medium Format Film). Unlike 35mm film, the medium Format gives only 12 exposure. $7 for a roll, a dollar per image (including developing not print); it is not cheap but the resolution can match some of the expensive digital camera. As much I love about digital camera, the feel of the old Film Camera is amazing maybe it is a man thing! The print of the medium film is amazing as my studio camera Mamiya RZ67 Pro II (also Medium Format Camera) produced some of the beautiful print from the darkroom. The print of the medium format camera has so much details, one does fall in love quickly as I have did many years ago!

The square format images has a unique feel as it does make the image like a gallery print. Enjoy my first Collection with this little camera taken during the trip to Mexico, Playa Del Maya. Comments are always welcome, Enjoy!

Family Portrait with Slide & Color Print Film

This is one of my favorite portrait, my 3 years old nephew is so smart and yet shy. When she plays with her dad she shows all the character of an innocent child. Amazing watching them grow and I’m sure this photo will show case in her wedding slide show, I’m sure it will bring back memory for her even though she is only three.

Shopping at downtown Playa Del Carmen is fun but it is expensive as you don’t see any local shop here! The colorful of the building leads me to this beautiful photo.
