Vancouver photography workshop with 100 years old camera

Wet Plate Collodion Demo by Vancouver Photographer

What is Wet Plate Collodion Photography?

Blush Photographer Film Wet Plate Workshop

As a Blush bridal photographer I love Art and Blush Photography when I met Photographer Phillip Chin back in 2015 at Fusion in Yaletown Vancouver, BC while filming for BeauPhoto, at that time I knew not much of Phillip. As a Vancouver photographer and filmmaker, I love making story that related to my interest. 2016, I came across Phillip Chin on Facebook as he is planning a Wet Plate Collodion demo at Artstarts Gallery is the only free, public gallery in Canada exclusively dedicated to young people’s art in downtown Vancouver; I contacted him for the follow video project.

Photographer Phillip Chin and his assistant Maisie Lam facilitated the workshop in wet plate collodion or tintype photography. He explained the steps involved in producing a wet plate collodion photograph, including pouring, developing, fixing and varnishing the plates.

It is wonderful Phillip Chin allows participants to use the 100 years old camera to photograph; no doubt the event was a great success due to the passionate what Phillip brought to the media with humor and energy. It was never a dull moment when Phillip is in the room.
