  • Testing out Canon C300 MkII Cinema camera before Halloween week, shot with native iso 800 with Canon micro 100mm F2.8L, recorded in external recorder Atomos Shogun HQ and graded in DaVinci Resolve.

Note: This short film was a sole project of myself with no assistance therefore it is not perfect while this video serve as a play ground for learning the new functions of this cinema camera.

The camera is set as iso 800 to see how much low light I can gain out of it since the video file 2K with 10 bits. I do notice the deep dark is muddy where there is no light but once there is light the images are looking alive.

Yes, I’m a fan of Metallic and off course ‘Enter Sandman’ came into play with the theme and story.

The videos coming out of the Canon C300 MkII are joy to color grade as there are no Luts are used. Currently, I own Sony A7S II and Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera, so far this Canon C300 MkII color is the best and again it is the most expensive cinema camera I own this day. I will be filming more documentary, wedding and indie film with this great cinema camera.
