Graduation at Vancouver UBC Chan Centre
I had the opportunity to photograph a UBC graduate, Miss Shang, as she crossed the stage during her graduation ceremony at the UBC Chan Centre. Graduation isn’t just a portrait with the family but the beginning of adulthood. Crossing the stage is more than standing in the spotlight and being recognized for four years of hard work. It’s leaving a stage in life and making the transition to a new one. Mrs. Shang was present at the ceremony, but Mr. Shang was overseas working at the time. Therefore, I’m sure when Miss Shang looks back on these graduation photos, she’ll think of how much love and support her family has given her to help her get to this point. Now it’s her time to buy dinner for everyone!
A little bit about the Chan Centre: Even though it is more known as a performance hall, this hall is also available for wedding booking though few people know of this. I’ve been to many wedding venues, but the Chan Centre does have a unique look and style of its own.
